In the face of tragedy, Wilmington banded together 20 years ago with love, camaraderie, empathy, and determination. Now, that unprecedented strength in the face of unfathomable tragedy may be the very strength we’ll need again and again.

Wilmington Symphony Orchestra celebrates a “A New Era" this Saturday at Wilson Center with conductor Dr. Peter Askim features the premiere of [ n e w w o r k ] by Algernon Robinson, along with Kauyumari by Gabriela Ortiz and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. 

Collectively, we have weathered a long, stormy week (err... lifetime?) in the world and I feel gratitude for a mild—dare I say, chill—evening of belonging and togetherness at Port City Jerry Day in our community's outdoor park and amphitheater.
