STARTUP SENSATIONS: Seven Wilmington startups are finalists for NC Tech Association Awards

There's plenty of buzz in news and media about North Carolina's growing entrepreneur ecosystem, and on December 9 in Raleigh, it will all come to a head at the NC Tech Association's award ceremony.Â
The ceremony hosts leaders from technology, education, government, and business to honor and celebrate the growth and innovation in North Carolina's vibrant and blossoming tech sector. The night is for honoring all the finalists and awarding the winners with their respective awards, as well as general communion among fellow industry professionals.Â
Seven of the finalists (three of which encore previously shared with readers) will represent the Port City for their respective awards. The finalists are:
Award Nomination: Core Innovation, AI, ML + Data Innovation
Health analytics company improving early detection of hospital-acquired conditions such as sepsis; and secured a major partnership with Mayo Clinic to scale sepsis prediction tools.
Award Nomination: Core Innovation, Biotech + HealthTech Innovation
Sleep-tech company using connected textiles to gather biometric signals and improve sleep quality; partnered with UNCW to validate, test, and develop its technology.
Award Nomination: Company Performance, Top Tech Startups to Watch
Medication management and care-coordination platform helping seniors and caregivers manage prescriptions safely and effectively, and has early traction among home-care organizations.

AI-driven workforce training platform recently partnering with NAPA Auto Parts to scale skill development across automotive service centers.
Award Nomination: Core Innovation, Sustainable Tech Innovation
Agricultural software platform designed to optimize livestock processes and reduce carbon output in the industry.
Award Nomination: Core Innovation, Biotech + HealthTech Innovation
Healthtech startup creating 3D medical animations for clinical training and education, founded by UNCW graduates and is currently gaining early adoption among health organizations.

Beverage-industry CRM and operations platform built by former nCino employees; it is venture-backed and experiencing rapid national customer growth among breweries and distilleries.
