Norway’s Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra band kicks off their fall tour in the US this month. Nearly half of Hayde’s tour dates are in North Carolina, with a stopover in Wilmington at Bourgie Nights on October 23.

Shakori does a really good job of generational and genre intersection, like a family patchwork quilt that’s less concerned with trends and perfect seams, but focused rather on the warmth it provides your body and heart during cold winters.

In the face of tragedy, Wilmington banded together 20 years ago with love, camaraderie, empathy, and determination. Now, that unprecedented strength in the face of unfathomable tragedy may be the very strength we’ll need again and again.

Wilmington Symphony Orchestra celebrates a “A New Era" this Saturday at Wilson Center with conductor Dr. Peter Askim features the premiere of [ n e w w o r k ] by Algernon Robinson, along with Kauyumari by Gabriela Ortiz and Symphony No. 5 in E minor, Op. 64 by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

Collectively, we have weathered a long, stormy week (err... lifetime?) in the world and I feel gratitude for a mild—dare I say, chill—evening of belonging and togetherness at Port City Jerry Day in our community's outdoor park and amphitheater.

Songs of Peace will feature five musical acts singing only songs of peace, including The Port CIty Ukuholics, Jesse Stockton, Jesse James DeConto (The Pinkerton Raid) Kelly Zullo, and Nate Gerry. In addition to music, Songs of Peace will offer speakers, interactive art, and poetry.

The Brooklyn Arts District (BAD) had a full day and night of art and music from Lettuce, Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Signal Fire, and more.
